Local Area
The apartment is situated just off the New Town which, despite
its name, was built in the 1700's and designed by Robert Adam.
Queen Street, George Street and Princes Street are around
a 10-15 minute stroll away but there're lots of quaint shops
and cosy bars and restaurants just round the corner in Broughton
Street and Elm Row.
The Playhouse Theatre is only a few minutes walk away and
offers some of the best stage shows in the UK, straight from
the West End and Broadway.
The Royal Yacht Brittania, the Queen's private Yacht and
now retired, can be found berthed at Leith.
This area, nearest to the Firth of Forth
(known as The Shore), has some of the finest shops, restaurants
and bars in Leith. Seafood restaurants are popular here and
you have to book in advance to get a table.
If you are around in May then the Leith Jazz
Festival is a fantastic opportunity to see international players
as well as Edinburgh's very talented (and sometimes internationally
renowned) players together.
Don't worry if it's not May, because Edinburgh
offers fantastic music and arts of all varieties all year round
